Interest Survey Results - July 2020
A survey was sent out to the membership earlier this year to help the Executive get a sense of what activities or interests might help engage members in the 2020-21 program year which would, undoubtedly, be impacted by the COVID pandemic. The survey results are summarized below:
• 77% said they would use Zoom for the general program meetings
• 15 people were willing or very willing to be leaders of the new e-groups being established this year
• 51% were interested in an on-line wellness group.
• 43% were interested in participating in a virtual on-line walking group. This is where you count the steps you take while walking in your own area, then enter your number of steps onto the “WorldWalking” site (under the CFUW HH group now set up on the site). Once entered, you can see how far your steps would take you on the chosen hike anywhere in the world!
• 57% were interested in small Zoom groups to stay connected during these times. We can use the “Break Out Room” technology to make these small “connecting” groups possible
• 41% were interested in participating in one-on-one phone chats via Messenger
• 54% expressed an interest in participating in the “phone rota”
• 17 people indicated an interest in a study group (a theme is picked and members take turns researching an aspect of the topic and doing a presentation to other group members)
• Eight people who responded to the survey were not interested in participating in any of the new undertakings.
With these results in hand, discussions took place as to how best the Executive could actively engage our members for the 2020-21 program year. Check out the Interest Group Reference Guide to see what we came up with! (A link to the Guide can be found on the Member’s page of our website.)
